The Estate is nestled at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains right next to thousands of hectares of untouched wilderness in Transylvania. The Park with its special microclimate offers magnificent views with its century old trees and ponds.

After the harrowing years of Communism, while the estate was expropriated and the family displaced, a new generation, Katalin Basu Roy Chowdhury (born Countess Mikes) and her sons Alexander and Gregor - with his wife Zsolna - returned to Transylvania to rebuild their ancestral home as a modern, private estate.

The Machine House – nowadays the guesthouse - on the Estate of the Count Mikes family in the “Szekler” region of Transylvania.The 18th century building hosted the machinery of the estate. In 2006 it has been carefully and stylishly refurbished. Today it offers a unique combination of bygone elegance, modern comforts and exceptional cuisine. Free WiFi Internet access.
The Dobrica Hunting Lodge next to Transylvanias best bearwatch will be available for self catering in 2010.
